Because Every Stay Matters | Sustainable Hotel in Thailand

Sustainability is no longer a side project in hospitality, it’s becoming a core expectation. Guests want comfort that feels effortless. Partners want operations that are future-ready. And hotels today are being asked to deliver both: exceptional experiences and responsible stewardship of resources.

At JASMINE HOTEL GROUP, that balance is not framed as a trade-off. It’s a design and operating philosophy; guided by the brand’s inspiration: the jasmine flower, small yet powerful, symbolizing purity, resilience, and enduring value, expressed through contemporary elegance and timeless charm.

In this interview, we speak with Ms. Panipak Pengkham, General Manager and a key driving force behind the Group’s environmentally friendly operations, to understand how Jasmine integrates sustainability into the guest experience.

1. GM - Jasmine Hotel Group

Q: What is the core design concept of Jasmine Hotel Group?
General Manager:

“From day one, we have believed that guest comfort and sustainability must go hand in hand. Our hotels are not designed for aesthetics alone, but to create an environment that is peaceful, safe, and environmentally friendly in the long term.”

Q: How does the hotel ensure comfort and safety?
General Manager:

“Our buildings are designed to efficiently regulate indoor temperature while minimizing noise pollution, ensuring guests feel relaxed throughout their stay.

In addition, we use non-combustible materials throughout the property, along with standardized fire protection systems and safety equipment, to ensure the well-being of both guests and staff.”

Q: What technologies support energy efficiency?
General Manager:

“One of our key highlights is the use of Double-Glazing Heat-Strengthened Low-E Tinted Glass, which offers excellent insulation. It can reduce external heat by approximately 75–90% and block noise by up to 40–45 decibels. These features help create a quiet, comfortable indoor atmosphere while simultaneously reducing energy consumption.”

Q: How can guests participate?
General Manager:

“We invite our guests to help conserve water and reduce environmental impact by reusing towels and bed linens.

If you would like them replaced, simply let us know using the card provided in your room, an easy way to help care for our planet.”

Q: How does the hotel reduce paper usage in its services?
General Manager:

“One of the approaches we have adopted to support environmental sustainability is the development of a paperless information system through the use of QR codes in guest rooms and various service areas throughout the hotel.

By simply scanning a QR code, guests can conveniently access comprehensive hotel information, including spa and massage services, TV channel guides, room service menus, essential guest information, in-room amenities, as well as the hotel’s environmental and sustainability practices.

Reducing the use of printed materials and documents not only helps conserve natural resources, but also enhances convenience and delivers a modern, eco-friendly guest experience that aligns with today’s lifestyles.”

Q: How does the hotel prioritize environmentally friendly furniture?
General Manager:

“Sustainability does not stop at building design—it extends to the details that guests can truly experience. We carefully select furniture and decorative items from ZSAFE, made from recycled PET plastic bottles.

From sofa covers and curtains to table mats, each piece is thoughtfully designed to be soft, durable, and aesthetically pleasing. A single product can repurpose the equivalent of more than 10 plastic bottles.

This is one of the ways we apply the concept of a circular economy, creating a stay experience that is beneficial for both our guests and the planet.”

Q: How does the hotel support environmentally friendly transportation?
General Manager:

“We recognize that our guests’ travel behaviors are evolving. Jasmine Hotel Group has therefore installed EV charging stations in our parking areas to accommodate guests who use electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid cars, providing greater convenience while supporting sustainable travel.”

“Our charging stations are designed to be safe, user-friendly, and compliant with international standards. This not only enhances convenience but also represents an important step toward reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting sustainable mobility.”

Q: Does the hotel use clean energy?
General Manager:

“We have adopted solar energy technology to generate electricity within the hotel, helping reduce our reliance on energy sources that contribute to pollution.

Solar power is a clean and naturally renewable energy source that helps lower carbon dioxide emissions, a major cause of global warming.

This investment in clean energy reflects our long-term commitment to environmental stewardship—creating a better world for our guests, the community, and future generations.”
